New transmitters
NCPR has signed on its newest station, WXLB, 91.7 fm, serving Boonville, NY and the surrounding area. The new facility replaces a low power translator. The new station will provide a stronger, more reliable signal in the Boonville area and brings North Country Public Radio to many more people in the region. We are thrilled to be able to provide this service. Thanks to the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties for its support.

North Country Public Radio is also on the air with a new station, WXLQ, Bristol, Vermont, 90.5 fm. It provides a good signal to the western Lake Champlain communities in New York of Port Henry, Westport and Essex, as well as Bristol, Vergennes, Monkton and Ferrisburg, Vermont. Many listeners in the area, who currently listen to our Plattsburgh-Peru-Burlington signal at 88.1 fm, will experience better reception on our new 90.5 frequency.
Thanks to the Essex Community Fund, administered by the Adirondack Community Trust, and to two volunteers who provided assistance with signal assessment, Ed French and Carole Slatkin, both of Essex, NY.
