The exhibition of forty quilts and memory jars originated at Intuit: The Center for Intuitive and Outsider Art in Chicago. These works from an African-American tradition are all by anonymous makers and "are composed of fragments, scraps and leftovers that have been recycled and re-energized into new forms. Lost and found again, they are spiritual orphans, sacred relics with their makers’ soulful energy."
