The evening of December 10, 2005, the historic Edwards Opera House was packed with holiday revelers to hear a great concert of the music of the season. This hour-long excerpt contains music by Martha Gallagher, the Adirondack Harper, and the St. Lawrence University Laurentian Singers, directed by Barry Torres and accompanied by Barbara Phillips-Farley.

The Annual Candlelight Concert from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam was presented in Helen M. Hosmer Concert Hall on December 4, 2005. It featured the Crane Chorus, The Men’s Ensemble, The Phoenix Club and Touring choir conducted by Adam Adler, Rebecca Reames and Heather Eyerly and The Crane Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Christopher Lanz. Tenor soloist was tenor Kirk Dougherty.

The Edison cylinder recordings used to create this concert were brought to the NCPR studio June 28, 2005 by Rebecca Hopfinger of Clayton, along with a gramophone decorated with roses by her Aunt Bertha.

Following the late picnic dinner with family on the Green, and before the fireworks display, the bandshell next to the memorial fills with brassmen from all around. Tunes both popular and patriotic carry all the way to the courthouse on the cooling summer air.

A holiday worship service featuring the voices of the University Chorus and The Laurentian Singers performing under the direction of Barry Torres with accompanist Barbara Phillips-Farley, Rosemary Phillips and Catherine Jahncke. Lisa Scrivani-Tidd is University organist, and John Ellis is professor of trumpet at The Crane School of Music. Thanks to the Chaplain's Office, Rev. Kathleen Buckley, The University Chorus and The Laurentian Singers for permission to share this service with the community. This concert was recordrd in the University's historic Gunnison Memorial Chapel on December 8, 2004.
