Robin Johnson from Rainbow Lake
worked on the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival
ice palace for the first time this year. Although he had never worked
with ice before, he became intrigued with the challenge. He created
several carvings that adorn the interior of the palace as well as
the two dates on the front wall and knight sentries guarding
the entrance to the palace.
Ice palace workers honored Robin with their "Rookie
of the Year" award for the unique quality he
brought to this year's palace.
