Submit a Photo of the Day

How to Submit

Submit a photo and caption using the submission form below, or via the email link in the right-hand column.

Note: Please include a brief caption (include your name and the town where you live, and the names of people in the photo, the date, and where the photo was taken) in the comment form or in the body of your email. To include your image via the comment form, click the link in the form labeled "Add images." To submit via email, attach the image to your message, or embed it within the email.

Please send photos in .jpg format and scale down any photo that is larger than 1 mb in size. By submitting, you give permission for use of your photo on the NCPR website and assert that you have the right to give such permission. NCPR asserts no ownership over submissions; all rights are retained by the photographer or rights holder.

(If the link above fails to open your email application, start your email service in the usual way and submit your photo, caption and personal information to radio@ncpr.org. Put "Photo of the Day submission" in your subject line.)

Private submission

If you do not want your submissions to be public unless they are chosen as NCPR's Photo of the Day, use the email method to make your submission.

Privacy Considerations

Do not include an exact address or personal email in the body or caption info when using the submission form. These will be displayed to the public.

Do not include the full names of minor children pictured in your submissions. We do not publish this information when posting a selected Photo of the Day in order to protect child safety.

Inappropriate Images

Please email radio@ncpr.org if you think any of the images posted here are inappropriate. We reserve the right to remove any images for any reason. You can also "flag" images as inappropriate using the flag link below any submission made using the form. Any photo receiving three or more flags from different users is automatically removed from public view.

POTD Selection

Selections for Photo of the Day are made each weekday by NCPR staff. Among the things we take into account are quality, timeliness and popularity. You can advance the popularity of a submission made using the form on this page by clicking the "Like" link below the submission.
