Corrections Officers Get Delay in Transfers

There is going to be a delay in the forced reassignment of 245 corrections officers until the state's 2004-2005 budget is passed. Governor Pataki recently announced that a declining prison population in New York is causing the closure of three facilities and downsizing at six others. The change announced Monday by the state Department of Correctional Services is being lauded by union leaders and lawmakers alike. Jody Tosti reports.
