A "Common Man's" Hiking Guide to the St. Lawrence Valley
Aug 20, 2004 — If you go to the outdoor section of your local bookstore, you'll find dozens of guidebooks for the Adirondacks and several for the Lake Champlain area and the Tug Hill Plateau. But you'll be lucky to find even a couple dedicated to hiking trails in the St. Lawrence Valley. Author Roger Fulton saw the niche and wrote a book called 25 Short Hikes and Interesting Walks in the Thousand Islands and St. Lawrence Seaway Region. Fulton summers in Alexandria Bay and winters in Florida. He told David Sommerstein that he and co-author Michael Carpenter are retired state policemen.
