Former Upstate Biotechnology property being sold
Jun 29, 2007 — The former Upstate Biotechnology property in Lake Placid is being sold to a group of local investors, one of whom is the current chairman of the Olympic Regional Development Authority Board of Directors. PEG Enterprises, chaired by business executive and St. Regis Falls native J. Patrick Barrett, is purchasing the property, which had been sought by North Country Community College. The biotech business shut down in 2006, eliminating more than 120 high-tech, good-paying jobs. As Chris Knight reports, the new owners are saying little about their plans for the property.
