Fiscal cliff deal brings good news for wind industry
Jan 03, 2013 — As part of its "fiscal cliff" deal, the U.S. Congress agreed earlier this week in Washington, D.C., to extend production tax credits for wind energy producers until the end of 2013.
In 2012, wind projects could only qualify for the production tax credit if they'd finished construction and started producing energy. But this year, projects will be eligible for the tax break simply by starting construction. They don't have to be finished by the end of the year. Go to full article

North country housing market tight as Fort Drum deployments smaller, shorter
Watertown, NY, Jan 03, 2013 — Nearly all of Fort Drum's soldiers are at the post right now, not on deployments - and that's a first for the region since the installation's expansion in 2001.
