Big expectations for "Idle No More" meeting in Canada
Ottawa, ON, Jan 11, 2013 — First Nations chiefs are meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper in Ottawa today. The meeting is a response to months of protests by a grassroots aboriginal group called Idle No More.
The group is demanding the government address issues such as poverty, land claims, and profits from natural resources.

No timeline for gun ban agreement
Albany, NY, Jan 11, 2013 — Governor Cuomo dampened expectations for a quick settlement on a package of gun control bills, saying he does not have a timeline for agreement with the legislature.
The governor says he's still pushing, but one day after legislative leaders said they believed a deal was "achievable" and could come this week, Governor Cuomo now says there is no timeline, for "when or if" a deal on anti gun measures will be reached. Go to full article
