Listen to RealAudio  North Country Art Lovers At The Gates of Central Park (6:00) 02/23/05
This weekend, "the Gates" will be dismantled in Central Park. The enormous pattern of orange archways and banners, created by the artists Christo and Jeanne-Claude, has attracted millions of visitors from around the world. On Monday, some fifty art-lovers from around the North Country made a one-day bus pilgrimage to New York City, to see the installation.

Brian Mann produced our audio collage. We heard from Nancy Battaglia, from Lake Placid. Nicholas Mann, Aggie Pilateri, Peter Wilson and Sabra Wilson from Saranac Lake. Kyle Hartman from Rensellaer Falls. And Naj Wykof from Keene Valley. The bus trip to see the Gates in Central Park was sponsored by the Lake Placid Center for the Arts. Email this story to a friend!
