Spitzer Campaigns for Bassett in Saranac Lake

New York State Attorney General Elliott Spitzer was in Saranac Lake Monday to endorse Democrat Bernie Bassett in his campaign against Republican Assemblyman Chris Ortloff of Plattsburgh. The endorsement was the latest by top Democrats in the state for Bassett, a retired principal from Morrisonville with no previous political experience. Chris Knight reports.  Go to full article

The Hill and Hollow Music Series, based in Saranac, is celebrating its 10th anniversary. The theme this year is "Northern Lights". Over a dozen musical "luminaries" who were born or raised in the North Country will come back to the area this year. The season kicks off Sunday afternoon in Plattsburgh with a Rossini Opera Gala, featuring Plattsburgh native Rockwell Blake and the Orchestra of Northern New York.
