Canada Day Marks Start of Busy Week on the St. Lawrence

Today is Canada Day, and that means the beginning of a busy holiday week on the St. Lawrence River. As Canadian and American boaters buzz across the river, U.S. Immigration is reminding people to check in when they cross the border. Winston Barrus, deputy director for the Immigration and Naturalization Service in the region, says boaters will notice some changes when they apply for their I-68 immigration form. What Are the Protestors Protesting?

The G8 protests in Calgary and Ottawa have been peaceful, so far. One of the leading globalization critics in Canada is the Council of Canadians, a citizen watchdog group based in Ottawa. David Sommerstein spoke with the Council's spokesman, Bill Moore-Kilgannon, about the protests in Ottawa.
