Striking Vermont bus drivers said ready to talk

WINOOSKI, Vt. (AP) Striking bus drivers in Vermont's largest county say they have a proposal and are ready to discuss it with the management of the Chittenden County Transportation Authority.

Lake Champlain ferry fees going up next month

BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) The Lake Champlain Transportation Company says fees for crossing between Vermont and New York are going up.

The company announced Monday that the cost for a driver and a vehicle less than 19 feet long will increase to $10 on April 4. Each adult passenger will cost $4.  Go to full article

Vermont bus driver union says strike to continue

BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) The Burlington school superintendent says there was an increase in absenteeism and tardiness in the city schools on the first day of a bus strike in Vermont's largest county.

Superintendent Jeanne Collins says most of the increase was among students who receive free and reduced priced lunches.  Go to full article
