Mother-Daughter Team Pens Book On Holocaust

Sep 25, 2009 (Tell Me More) — As millions of Jews across the world prepare for the holy day of Yom Kippur, host Michel Martin speaks with the authors of Bending Toward the Sun. The book is a family memoir, co-written by mother and daughter Rita Lurie and Leslie Gilbert-Lurie, about Rita's harrowing story of survival during the Holocaust, and how that experience reverberates across generations of the family. Lurie's 14-year-old daughter Mikaela also joins the conversation.
