Sep 10, 2010 — The Political Junkie visits St. Louis, and member station KWMU, next Tuesday and Wednesday for a stimulating (?) conversation about politics. It's true, I have yet to recover from the 1964 World Series, when the St. Louis Cardinals defeated my Yankees in 7 games. Not that I hold a grudge or anything.
Nonetheless, just to show I can get over things, I will be visiting the wonderful folks at member station KWMU — St. Louis Public Radio — next Tuesday and Wednesday (Sept. 14-15) to spread the Political Junkie gospel.
St. Louis Public Radio, which is part of the University of Missouri-St. Louis, boasts 271,800 St. Louis area listeners, and its signal reaches 2.4 million people.
And while many of the events scheduled are already sold out — can you blame them? — here's one that looks like fun. If not dangerous.
St. Louis Public Radio invites you all to a, gulp, Happy Hour on Wednesday, Sept. 15, at 6 pm at the Schlafly Tap Room at 2100 Locust Street (21st St.). The invitation says the cost is $10 in advance and $15 at the door. It's ostensibly to talk about all things politics, but I understand if people come simply to drink heavily. The invitation refers to "St. Louis Public Radio Young Friends." I'm not sure if you have to be young to show up. Either way, here is the official invitation.
Political Junkie, the blog, will focus on all of next week's primaries. Unless, of course, the happy hour gets out of hand.
I hope to see you there!
