Hillary Clinton: State Department Likely Last 'Public' Post

Dec 3, 2010 — Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said her current public post was likely her last. She seemed to keep the door ajar, however, by saying "probably."Hillary Clinton, who for a time in 2007 and 2008 looked like she would be the first woman to be the presidential nominee of one of the two major political parties, indicated Friday that her current job as the U.S.' chief diplomat would likely be her last public post.
She made the statement while answering a student's question during an official visit to Manama, Bahrain.
Reuters reported:
`I think I'll serve as secretary of state as my last public position and then probably go back to advocacy work, particularly on behalf of women and children.''
It was the first time Clinton has spoken so directly about leaving public service, where she has been a dominant figure inDemocratic circles for two decades.
Notice that Clinton wasn't exactly Shermanesque here. Sounds likes she left the door ajar by using "probably."
