It snowed a smidge here in Washington overnight — just a dusting, really — but out West, specifically in Minneapolis, they got hammered.  If you haven't seen the video of the Metrodome roof collapsing, check it out. It's really quite something.

But if you're having a more run-of-the-mill snow day, that is to say, with no major structural collapses, you may have a snowball fight lined up, or might just get drawn into one. Lucky for you, The Art of Manliness has a post that'll help you make the most of your snow.

Unless you're new to colder climes, you know wetter snow — to a point — makes better snowballs. But if you get the powdery stuff, you don't need to cancel your fight plans. Just pick a face-off time in the middle of the day, so the sun has time to warm — and melt — the snow a bit. Wear gloves, and select your snow-gathering spots carefully:

Look for snow in slightly warmer places such as close to the street where cars have driven or near houses where the heat given off from inside might warm things up a bit.

Good tips. Click over for more, or leave your own in the comments. And in case you're looking at highs above freezing today, here's a little snowball fighting for you, too.
