Dec 17, 2010 — The Defense Department responded Friday to the argument that the Army's Bradley Manning is being mistreated in military custody.The Defense Department responded Friday to the argument that the Army's Bradley Manning is being mistreated in military custody. The AP reports:
"Defense Department spokesman Col. Dave Lapan said Friday that Manning has the same privileges as all other prisoners held in what the military calls 'maximum custody.' He said Manning is in a standard single-person cell and gets exercise, recreation, access to newspapers and visitors."
Manning is suspected of supplying confidential U.S. government documents to the WikiLeaks organization and is being held in a Marine prison in Quantico, Virginia.
