You Better Watch Out, You Better Not Cry

by Mito Habe-Evans
Dec 24, 2010 — If "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town" wasn't sung so cheerfully, the lyrics might be interpreted as kind of creepy: "He sees you when you're sleeping." That's what some of the kids in these photos must have been thinking about that bearded man in red.

If "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town" wasn't sung so cheerfully, we'd notice that the lyrics are actually kind of creepy:

He sees you when you're sleeping. He knows when you're awake. He knows if you've been bad or good, so be good for goodness sake.

Oh you better watch out, you better not cry, you better not pout or else Santa will come steal you away to go work in a coal mine and you'll never see your parents again. The horror!

Or something like that. At least that's what the children in these photos must have been thinking about that big bearded man in red, though to be fair, some of these Santas are a little scary.
