Here's the just-sworn in Gov. Jerry Brown (a Democrat, who when he last led the state, a few decades ago, was called "Gov. Moonbeam" by some of his foes) during his inauguration today. It's worth a listen, and the transcript follows:
Brown: "I take this obligation freely."
California Supreme Court Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye: "Without any mental reservation."
Brown: "Without any mental reservation."
(Laughter heard in the audience.)
Cantil-Sakauye: "Or ..."
Brown: "Really! No mental reservation."
(Louder laughs.)
Earlier today, NPR's Ina Jaffe reported that there's been "no Hollywood ending" to Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's term.
