Think Twice About That Hair Transplant, Men

Jan 5, 2011 — Chef Gordon Ramsay has apparently been subject to speculation -- and ridicule -- that he may have undergone a hair transplant in Beverly Hills. I've got no problem with you if you want one too, but please, think twice: Some men look better bald.It doesn't seem to have made a huge ripple on these shores, but chef Gordon Ramsay has apparently been subject to speculation — and ridicule — that he may have undergone a hair transplant in Beverly Hills.
But what's the big deal about baldness, anyway? Patrick Barkham at the Guardian provides some historical context:
Hair loss has been an accursed symbol of a loss of virility and vitality for centuries. Baldness is one of God's favourite punishments in the Old Testament. Samson's strength vanished when Delilah discovered his pact with God and she ordered a servant to cut the Israelite's flowing locks.
Apparently, hair transplant procedures have made significant progress since hair plugs and are now much more difficult to detect — Ramsey is only under suspicion because of photos taken as he left the clinic.
Ok, fine. I understand that a full head of hair has long been linked to manliness, but why is it such a big deal? I say, if you're bald and feel badly, it's your head, do what you want with it. But be careful. Take a look at Mr. Ed Harris up there. Now picture him with a full head of hair. Thanks, but no thanks!
