I am officially overwhelmed by the future.
It started last week when I went to Bed Bath & Beyond and discovered bladeless fans. They take the air in and multiply it. Oh, Dyson.
Next, I hear the Morning Edition story about the pulseless artificial heart. Being alive without a heartbeat, what does it mean?
Then Google introduces the "Search Out Loud" and "Search by Image" features.
I can deal with the voice feature. I'm used to speaking to the digital operator woman and having her interpret my name as Krista, Prescott or Francesca.
The reverse picture search takes this to a whole new level. Try it out a couple of times. If you search a common image, it'll show you other places to find it. If you search a family photo or something personal, photos that are eerily similar is color and composition will come up. I don't actually know how I would use this feature, but it overwhelms me, nonetheless.
I can't even imagine where technology will take us next.
This isn't just about flying cars and clones anymore, people. Bladeless fans! One day, children won't even know what it means to have your mother tell you not to stick your fingers in the fan.
They'll just be happy and carefree, chatting with their search engines, while blade-free fans multiply the air to their liking.
