'The Plot Against America' by Philip Roth

"I think The Plot Against America by Philip Roth was the best book I read this year. I was incredibly moved by descriptions of deep patriotism and love of this country's ideals. At the same time, the story of how easily [a country] can be propelled into racism... brought tears to my eyes."
