Sep 27, 2013 — A small box found near Mont Blanc contained rubies, sapphires and emeralds thought to be worth more than $330,000. Authorities suspect they had been on board one of two Indian passenger planes that crashed in the area — one in 1950; one in 1966. The climber who found the treasure turned it in.

Aug 14, 2013 — The large aircraft went down near the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth Airport. The pilot and co-pilot died in the crash. The jet was on a UPS flight from Louisville.

Jul 19, 2013 — Ye Meng Yuan, a teen from China, was struck after the crash. A coroner has now ruled that she was alive when that happened. San Francisco's fire chief says the news is "devastating" and has apologized. Firefighters apparently didn't see the girl because she had been covered with fire-retardant foam.

Jul 8, 2013 — A "plane spotter" who was recording as jets came in to San Francisco International Airport on Saturday captured video of the accident. It shows the aircraft hitting the ground and sliding down the runway. Remarkably, 305 of the 307 people on board survived.

Jun 4, 2012 — All of those on board — more than 150 — were killed when the Dana Air jet crashed into a Lagos neighborhood. It's feared there were other fatalities on the ground. Nigeria has had four crashes in the past decade that killed more than 100 people.
