APA faces "outrage" in Ticonderoga

In what may be a harbinger of things to come, the Adirondack Park Agency faced a hostile crowd last night in Ticonderoga. The APA is reviewing plans to build a 300-square foot sign on a new Lowe's superstore on the outskirts of the village. Ticonderoga Lowe's approved, sign issue remains

In a surprise move, the Adirondack Park Agency yesterday issued a permit approving construction of a new Lowe's superstore in Ticonderoga. The 153,000 square-foot store will sit next to the community's Wal-Mart store on the outskirts of the village. As Brian Mann reports, the Agency still hasn't approved a controversial 300 square-foot sign proposed for the front of the building.  Go to full article

In a Port Henry garage, the stars

Shooting wraps up this week in Port Henry on a new made-for-internet Star Trek episode. The project is directed by Hollywood actor Tim Russ, who played the Vulcan Tuvok in the 1990s. Stars include Walter Koenig, the original Chekov, and Nichelle Nichols, who played Lt. Uhura. As Brian Mann reports, they've partnered with local fans and film-makers intent on keeping the Trek universe alive.  Go to full article
