More Clean-up Work at Sealand

A toxic waste dump in St. Lawrence County will get the next stage of a clean-up this week. Federal contractors will install a filter to clean up contaminated groundwater at the Sealand Restoration landfill in the town of Lisbon. Rash of Arsons in Akwesasne

Since last year, the Akwesasne Mohawk reservation that straddles the U.S.-Canada border near Massena has been plagued by a rash of suspicious fires. No one has been injured, but dozens of buildings have been torched, some several times. New York state police, Ontario provincial police, and tribal police are investigating the incidents. David Sommerstein talked with Frank Lacerenza, chief of the Hogansburg-Akwesasne Volunteer Fire Department.
