Vintage poster for "The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms." Champ, the storied Lake Champlain monster, will be recognized with a 16mm screening of 1953's Beast from 20,000 Fathoms tonight from 9:15 pm- 11:00 pm at the John XXIII Newman Center in Plattsburgh, NY. This Ray Harryhausen classic not only has Champ lore connections but godfathered the whole Godzilla franchise (now 60 years old).
