The Alexander String Quartet, artists in residence at St. Lawrence University, will give a public performance Thursday night at 7:30 in Gulick Theatre on campus. The group's residency at St. Lawrence has included visits to classes in a variety of departments, providing master classes for music students and a trip to the Adirondacks. At the same time, retired generals and former weapons inspectors are adding their voices to those of peace groups who urge diplomatic solutions over military ones.
