Dems challenge GOP in St. Lawrence County

Road repair and paying for a new jail figure to be the hot topics in St. Lawrence County this fall. All 15 county legislative seats are up for re-election. Republicans currently hold a three-seat advantage. But four Republicans and one Democrat are stepping down, leaving five open races. GOP leaders say they've made the case for another four years in the majority. But Democrats have run off a series of victories since 2000, and they believe they take the legislature for the first time in 13 years. David Sommerstein reports.  Go to full article

Preview: Power Dam jam in Massena

NCPR is media sponsor for the first ever St. Lawrence River Power Dam Jam Music Festival at the New York Power Authority Visitor Center at Hawkins Point in Massena this weekend.
