Chris Shaw goes back to school

Singer/songwriter Chris Shaw returned to a Potsdam elementary school this month for another songwriting program. This was the 19th year that he's worked with young people on writing prose, verse and historical research. Shaw and 4th graders at Lawrence Avenue Elementary School spent last week studying North Country history, storytelling and folk music. The end result was two original songs and a concert for parents and friends. Todd Moe spoke with troubadour Chris Shaw about working with the Potsdam youngsters.  Go to full article

Preview: Larry Ham?s Carousel

Pianist Larry Ham grew up in Millbrook, a small town near Poughkeepsie. Piano lessons as a child led to a love of music, specifically jazz. He graduated from the Crane School of Music, and since 1985 has worked as a composer and arranger in New York City. He works with some of the top names in jazz and is gaining recognition as a band leader. He's performed at jazz festivals and concerts across the globe, including Washington D.C., Ottawa, Finland, Japan and West Africa.
