Election Debate Comes to Canton

Last night, St. Lawrence University presented it's own debate of the issues being discussed this political season. Conservative commentator Bay Buchanan and former Maryland Lieutenant Governor Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, a Democrat, largely focused on Iraq and national security. But they also spent time talking about domestic issues like jobs and education, and at one point, turned to the topic of how to make the democratic process stronger.  Go to full article

Gardens Galore!

If you're having trouble finding enough time to tend to your garden this summer, imagine how busy Mary Dial must be. Her home, overlooking the St. Lawrence River near Clayton is surrounded by eleven gardens. Her gardens have been featured in the New York Times and most recently won a Golden Trowel Award from Garden Design magazine.
