North Country tourism could take a hit from new passport rules

The 'Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative' went into effect yesterday. That's the official name of the new legislation requiring passports to enter or leave the U-S. The regulation does apply to Canada and Mexico, too. Right now, passports are only required for those traveling by air.
