Cuomo Quits Gubernatorial Race

Andrew Cuomo has dropped out of the Democratic primary for governor of New York and has thrown his support behind opponent Carl McCall. Flanked by former president Bill Clinton and New York Congressman Charles Wrangle, Cuomo said he decided to drop out of the race rather than run a negative campaign against McCall, who was far ahead in the polls to win the primary. Cuomo and McCall Debate in Rochester

The two democratic candidates for governor squared off in a public television debate yesterday in Rochester. While the two agreed on many issues, Andrew Cuomo, the former Housing Secretary, who's behind in the polls, jabbed continuously at the frontrunner Carl McCall, who is the state's comptroller. Golisano Unveils Property Tax Reform Plan

In this year's governor's race, billionaire businessman from Rochester Tom Golisano says he's offering a conservative voice that he thinks has been missing from the political debate. Profile: Green Party Gubernatorial Nominee Stanley Aronowitz

New Yorkers have been hearing more lately about George Pataki, Carl McCall, Andrew Cuomo, and Tom Golisano, as they campaign for governor. One candidate who hasn't gotten a lot of attention is the Green Party's nominee, Stanley Aronowitz. With a budget that's a tiny fraction of the other candidates, Aronowitz has been giving interviews to radio talk shows and cable TV stations, and he's saying some things that the others dare not mention.  Go to full article
