What a weekend we have in store. Leaves are at or near the peak of change throughout most of the region, although they have gone past peak in the Central Adirondacks.

Our continued dry weather has kept trails dry, but the US Drought Monitor is reporting that abnormally dry conditions have returned through all of Essex, Warren, and Hamilton counties and Northern Herkimer County. As a result the fire danger is elevated and waters are running below normal, even for this time of year.  Go to full article

Leaves are at or near the peak of change in the Central Adirondacks, and near peak at the periphery of the Adirondack Park.

The trails have dried some, and the fire danger remains moderate. Remember days are shorter, so plan your trips into the backcountry accordingly.  Go to full article
