Listen to this story

The top documentary prize went to Photos to Send, a look at the work of photographer Dorothea Lange. Winning the Festival's special Honorable Mention category was a movie that's not quite a movie. September 11: Response is described by its creators as a visual archive of what New Yorkers experienced on that day. Brian Mann's story about the work includes strong and graphic language.
