Nov 30, 2007 — Two young men, Graham Garland from Potsdam and Colton resident Michael Fulton, will share the leading role in St. Lawrence University's production of Gian Carlo Menotti's one-act Christmas opera Amahl and the Night Visitors. Performances are tonight and again Saturday night (8 pm) at the Russell Opera House and on Sunday, December 16th (2 pm) in Gulick Theatre at St. Lawrence University. Amahl and the Night Visitors was first presented live on television back in 1951. It's the story of a poor, disabled boy and his mother who are visited by three kings while on their journey to visit the Christ child. Todd Moe spoke with the director and music director of the St. Lawrence University production. Gerard Moses is emeritus professor of drama at Syracuse University, and talked about producing and directing the show at two venues - a modern stage on campus and the historic Russell Opera House.
