People: Peter Hinton on "Macbeth" at the NAC
Dec 26, 2007 — Referred to by some as the ruby in the crown of Shakespearean tragedy, Macbeth is a vivid portrait of ambition and betrayal. A new production of the classic opens next month at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa. Peter Hinton, now in his second year as Artistic Director of the English Theatre at the NAC, is directing the show. NCPR theatre critic Connie Meng caught up with Hinton recently at his office in Ottawa to talk about his theatre craft and directing Macbeth in a 20th century context.
