Ice Storm of 1998: 10 years after, relief and recovery, pt. 2
Jan 08, 2008 — We're marking the 10th anniversary of a storm that changed life in this region and changed the stories of our communities forever. This morning we'll hear more about relief and recovery. Five to six days of freezing rain had coated every power line, every tree and home with several inches of ice. Power was out across a wide swath of the border country of the U.S. and Canada, in some places for weeks. As the days passed, new routines were established. People figured out how to cook, or where to go to eat, how to get water or a shower. Martha Foley has more.
