Feb 08, 2008 — The Saranac Lake Winter Carnival wraps up this weekend, with more fireworks and a big parade, and of course one of the biggest ice palaces in years. For the last eighteen years, Mark Kurtz has had a front-row seat for the celebration. He's the official photographer of the Carnival. His big outdoor slideshow Sunday night is one of the most popular attractions. Kurtz told Brian Mann that he thinks of his work as a way of holding up a mirror to the community.
