Hillary backs Barack

Listen to this story
Hillary Clinton is apparently doing her part to get the New York delegation behind Barack Obama. As Karen DeWitt reported, she'll release her pledged delegates before the historic roll call vote. One of her longtime supporters, Congressman Charles Rangel says it's really true. He spoke with reporters at the opening reception last night.

Extended summary:

New York Representative Charles Rangel says that Hillary Clinton is doing a fine job of backing Barack Obama to be the Democratic Party's nominee for president.

"The speeches that she's given -- I don't know of anyone who didn't win the primary who has been as outgoing and forceful as she has," Rangel said, speaking from the Democratic National Convention in Denver.

"We are extremely proud of [Obama], and of Hillary Clinton. I would have hoped there would have been one ticket. I am satisfied that Joe Biden will be right there with us. Once the Clinton people have had the chance to express themselves with an historic vote, I'm confident we'll be walking side-by-side. This is our chance," Rangel said.

"Fortunately in our great country, we can fight on the way to victory. Fight we must, and win we will," he added.
