Pitching "Buy Local" to a wider audience
Oct 09, 2008 — Another round of advertising classes for farmers, artists and small business owners begins later this month. The "Marketing for Profit" course teaches business planning, e-commerce, financing and website development. Ruby Sprowls, with the Northern Adirondack Trading Cooperative, and Cornell Cooperative Extension of Jefferson County's Molly Ames stopped by to show Todd Moe some examples of local success stories. They say the course, taught in classrooms and on-line, is creating global market opportunities for North Country artisans and agricultural entrepreneurs.
