Train plan would boost Amtrak, freight in Lake Champlain corridor
Mar 10, 2009 — Governor Paterson's rail proposal could bring hundreds of construction jobs to the Champlain Valley in the coming years. State officials hope to upgrade the rail line between Albany and Montreal, expanding freight traffic and cutting Amtrak travel times by twenty-five percent. As Brian Mann reports, rebuilding New York's rail infrastructure could also boost manufacturing in Plattsburgh.
