(08/13/09) The U.S. postal service is cutting 50 jobs at its Watertown sorting center. Spokesperson Maureen Marion says 13 people will be transferred to the postal facility in Syracuse. Those employees will sort the mail delivered to all of northern New York. This work has been done in Watertown for decades. But Marion tells Jonathan Brown that advances in technology, the economy and a decline in the volume of first-class mail is forcing the postal service to make big changes.
