Sayward: Albany budget crisis hurting local businesses
Willsboro, NY, Apr 14, 2010 — The budget crisis continues in Albany. Lawmakers and Governor David Paterson have failed to reach a budget agreement for next year. The legislature has approved narrow budget extenders that allow crucial services to continue, but many payments are being withheld.
The state Budget Director says New York could run completely out of money as early as June. Brian Mann checked in yesterday with Assemblywoman Teresa Sayward. The Republican from Willsboro says the budget impasse is already hurting businesses in the North Country.
