Saranac Lake, NY, Apr 26, 2010 — A federal judge has ordered a new trial for a Saranac Lake pediatrician who was found guilty of negligence in an $11 million malpractice case. U.S. Northern District Court Judge Lawrence Kahn granted a motion for a retrial from lawyers for Dr. Patricia Monroe and Adirondack Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, a Saranac Lake medical practice. Last summer, a jury found Monroe failed to take steps to prevent two young girls from being repeatedly sexually assaulted by their older half-brother. Chris Knight reports.
