Preview: "Precious Metals" in Lake Placid
Lake Placid, NY, Jul 07, 2010 — The Lake Placid Center for the Arts hosts the exhibition, Precious Metals: Jewelry & Functional Art. It opens on Friday and continues through mid August. Adirondack artists Susan Camp and David Woodward will show their works along with many internationally-known artists. The exhibit will feature unique jewelry pieces, along with other one-of-a-kind items like fireplace tools, lamps and candlestick holders. The theme of the show is the idea that we live with art every day, and even ordinary objects can be works of art. Dan Dailey is a New Hampshire glass artist who's been in the public eye for the past four decades and collected by nearly fifty museums on three continents. Dailey spoke with Todd Moe about the Lake Placid show and his career as a glass and metal artist.
