Albany, NY, Aug 24, 2010 — State health officials are tracking a mumps outbreak and stressing the importance of vaccinations for kids heading back to school. More than a thousand New Yorkers are infected, according to Dr. Gus Birkhead, deputy commissioner of the state health department. Birkhead says 163 cases have been diagnosed, twice last year's numbers. Todd Moe has more.
