Kinderhook, NY, Oct 14, 2010 — Congressman Scott Murphy, the Democrat from Glens Falls, faced off with his Republican challenger for a debate yesterday.

Chris Gibson from Kinderhook is hoping to retake the 20th district House seat, which was once considered safe Republican territory.

The debate was hosted by the Poughkeepsie Journal and broadcast on the web.

The encounter produced one surprise, with Gibson reversing his position on the Small Business Jobs Act, passed by the Democrats last month. Martha Foley has more.
