Rensselaer, NY, Dec 01, 2010 — Environmental activists from across the state are applauding the state assembly for passing a bill that puts a moratorium on hydrofracking. The process involves pumping pressurized water and chemicals down deep wells to break rock and release natural gas.
The ban extends until next May 15. But with the celebration comes worry whether or not the governor will sign the bill into law. The Innovation Trail's Dan Bazile has more.
